You could get some flats. Something like these (searched "women's flats" on amazon, this was the first listing):

You can get them in whatever color you want. If you're using leaves or mushrooms, anything that attach to your body, that indicate it's theme better, you could always add some to the shoes to help "hide" that they are just basic flats.
