It's a shame you need the display ASAP, as it's a gift. Huion is a fantastic company, and they're making strides toward being a far better investment than anything Wacom offers, and I've owned a Cintiq, three different Intuos tablets, and a cute little Bamboo tablet. I now own the Huion Giano, and it's absolutely incredible. The only thing it doesn't have that Wacom does is pen tilt, which I've hated since its introduction anyway. My Huion tablet has a faster pen read speed, the same levels of pressure, and is larger than Wacom's largest tablet... For $400 less! Anyway, apologies for gushing. I just can't share this info with enough people, as you save SO much money, and receive a better product.

As for what to get between the two choices you have now, the Monoprice would be better, as the pen doesn't need charging or batteries. I'd honestly recommend splurging a bit and getting...

I'm telling you, Huion is a fantastic company, should you get anything in the future. I'm sorry that the smaller screen isn't coming in HD sooner, as I'd love to save you money, but of the companies, Huion's screen will definitely work the best. However, I totally understand not being able to spend an extra $150.
