Thanks! I'm not an audiophile, but I really like them: https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1700BT-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B016PATXSI
I am fairly new to figuring out how to make a good set up on turntables. I got the AT LP140XP as a gift last year, and I am struggling on what to do with it. Right now, I have a Pro-Ject Phono Box MM connected to the turntable with a grounding cable. This is connected to my Edifier R1700BT Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers. That is all. I am now hearing that I need a receiver, but I am having trouble figuring out which one to get.
Is my phono preamp okay? With the grounding cable, it helps the hum but it is still there in the background which is very annoying. Will the receiver fix that? Or is it a speaker issue. Do I need a new grounding cable or something to cover it with? When I put my hand over the cable connector the hum goes away completely.
What receiver would help?
I am looking to get new speakers. Is there a good set of speakers I can use with the turntable AND my phone for when listening to music regularly? That's why I got the BT Edifiers in the first place, so I can connect my phone and listen to my vinyls depending on the situation.
My price range is not the highest. I am hoping my preamp is not the problem and then I could do better with the speakers/amplifier. I would say my price range would be 400-500$ for everything.
It is important that I can also use the speakers with my phone when not listening to the turntable.
Any advice will help, thank you!
