You're like many of us who can't use halo straps since they aren't comfortable because they do just what you have found: put most of the weight onto your forehead. That halo straps don't work for some (many?) is hard to see online because you have all the Bobo VR owners that act like their straps are the greatest things ever and everyone will find it amazing and people like me who have used one and posted a negative view of their straps are brushed aside.
While it is possible that no matter what, the Q2 will never be somewhat comfortable for you, I'd recommend a non halo strap and using a counterweight at the back. Ideally, I'd recommend this strap since it has a battery that is useful:
Which I own and works well. If not that then the Kiwi battery version. Note that these two straps will act like the elite strap as they are designed the same way. You can in fact get the default strap to be very much like these by using an aftermarket pad on the back. AMVR does or at least did make one that worked wonders for the stock strap. This is it from Amazon Canada:

I first had that pad and velcroed a battery pack to the back of the strap before getting the kkcob one. The stock strap with that pad and a battery pack is about 90% as one of these rigid straps like the kkcob, kiwi strap, or elite. The main benefit of rigid "elite" style straps compared to that is having a ratchet wheel for superior adjustment compared to the dumb adjust things the default strap has. The default strap not having anything to cup or secure at the back of the head is the biggest reason why many don't find the strap comfortable and had it come with something like the AMVR pad built in, you'd have seen waaaaaay less complaints.
Also make sure you aren't tightenting the straps too much. There WILL be a bit of movement if you shake your head so don't try and get it to the point it won't even move a millimetre because that is too tight. Other key is to make sure the top strap is not too loose or has the headset sitting too low because the top strap is designed to move some of the weight to the top of your head.
