This is my first (and only) kalimba: Aklot Acrylic 17k Kalimba ($34). I didn't do much research going into kalimba shopping. It was only until after I read a bit on the sub that I was surprised that I had no dead tines (my highest tine only resonates for a split second, but doesn't sound completely dead). Also came with engraved tines, so I didn't need to fuss about putting on stickers. Note that acrylic kalimbas are much heavier than wooden kalimbas; playing on an acrylic for a while can be quite the wrist workout!
