All you need to check is what the amperage is of the breaker that outlet is connected to. It's probably at least 40 or 50 amps, but check anyway.
I've been using two of these in my garage for the past few months and haven't had any issues:

Their customer service is great and you can change the max current draw of the charger through its app..
We have an Emporia Level 2 charger. It works well. We have had no issues using with our 2023 ID.4 Pro S AWD. Have used immediate and preferred time charging from ID.4. The web interface and iOS app are adequate.

~$400 from Amazon … https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZNN3JB7
The most cost effective (also the most convenient) location for us to install the charger was on the interior wall where the main panel was on the exterior wall. The total install in 2023 was under $500 for 50 amp dual pole breaker, NEMA 15-50R outlet, wire, and to install. If we wanted it on a different wall it would have cost $1200+ depending upon how much wiring was used.
No matter what charger you may choose…
1) See what rebates are available for installation of a residential EV charger and what the requirements are:- https://www.dsireusa.org - https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/laws/ELEC
2) Research a few EV chargers, and read the manuals online to see what is required to connect the EV chargers to. i.e. breaker and outlet (and/or direct wire) Make sure the EV chargers are UL Certified.
3) Determine what type of service you have and if you have space for the required breaker. Best to call an electrician if you are unsure.
4) Buy the charger.
5) After the charger arrives, decide where you want the charger located.
6) Consult the Better Business Bureau (https://www.bbb.org) and online reviews to find a couple of electricians.
7) Call the electricians for estimates for the install and hardware (breaker, wire, outlet).
8) Make sure the electrician understands the orientation of the outlet that works best for where you want the charger installed. In our case it was ground pin down. The EV charger’s cord (to the outlet) is rather thick and not very pliable.
I got this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZNN3JB7
Keep in mind, many times your OEM EVSE is capable of charging on level 2 with nothing but a simple plug adapter at ~2.7kW. This will give you way more charging speed than almost anyone needs.
If you want a good value, Emporia sells a UL listed model on Amazon for $450.
However, having been through 2 very expensive EVSEs in only a few years, I purchased the OpenEVSE. I think mine was only $400 but it looks like they're $600 now. But I think it's still worth it for an "open source" EVSE that has all the bells and whistles and that are able to actually be repaired.
Thank you for the advisory! OP can you tell me if this EVSE is safe?
