I know 16awg isn't necessarily "venue" grade. I'm also aware "power strip" has a negative connotation in the pro audio world, so let me elaborate a bit.
I'm just struggling to come up with an economical solution for my system, which isn't particularly high-end in the first place. I am trying to emphasize ease of set-up/tear down and stay under $100 or so if I can help it for all power cables/strips/what have you, since I got the whole system for around $1k used it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go any higher than that from what I can tell.
If there's some extremely good reason to spend more to protect my gear, of course, that's one thing, but it seems there's not all that much difference between (reputable) power gear until you get to like rack-mounted conditioners and stuff. This is, of course, based on my own amateur experience and cursory research. ANY electrical topic on the forums I've been reading seems to be incredibly, almost comically contentious with experts coming out frothing from the woodwork on all sides and getting combative.
With that said, this is what I currently have the system plugged into. I was using a Furman SS6B until watching this video that revealed it's not really any fancier than the off-the-shelf stuff I was trying to avoid. I know it's not going to be the highest grade of protection in the event of a cataclysmic failure, but... it seems decent, right? Currently have the Belkin unit plugged directly into the wall and running long 20ft 16awg from it to the cabinets themselves. My question is could I swap those for 6ft or similar from the strip to the cabinets and then a 20ft extension to the wall + a 50 ft to have on hand if needed instead (never at the same time, of course.)
Cool solution OP. I went this route: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000J2EN4S
What does UL certified mean?
Is it okay if I were to bring this one?
I went with this power strip.

All outer plugs have huge gaps between them and face outwards. Strip in the middle is like a typical power strip and is great for anything two-prong,usb block. Has a decent cable management clip on the bottom too to route everything a little better.
Alright, sorry, I'll be more specific.
So, yes, I'm plugging each extension cord into the tap outlet.
The extension cords in question are 2 of these:
I believe they are 14 gauge
