Check out the RTAK-II?
I'd also recommend the Condor Mini Duku Parang. I have used it for 3 years for processing wood and basic tasks. Its very sturdy and comfortable in the hand, but you may want to wrap the handle for better grip. Pair it with a Mora and its the set I use.
For best budget blade, I'd go with the Schrade SCHF52. Its beefy and cheap should you need to replace it. It will also throw a spark off the spine with no modification. I love this knife, even though I broke the tip off being an idiot with it.
If you're REALLY set on that RAT-7, be sure to check out this ESEE-6 comparison. Its basically the same knife, only with better QC, a lifetime warranty and a better sheath. ESEE-6 is about half an inch less of blade as well.
