PZM/boundary mics... They're omnidirectional so there's not really an off-side to the mic, and if you place them on a hard flat surface the surface itself helps to amplify the audio the mic picks up, so they work a bit better at a distance than directional mics or regular omnidirectional mics do. It's the sort of thing you might use for an audio or video conference set up.
I'd go with MXL, Shure, Crown or another well known brand. Hang on and I'll see what I can find on Amazon in your price range.
Edit: These Audio-Technica's are cheaper than I ever would have thought from such a solid brand. Reckon you'd do all right with them. I assumed that you needed a 3.5mm connection as the mics you linked to had that. If not, let me know and I can look again.
