MSI GV15 is a pretty good deal for the performance. It does have two flaws to meet the price point though. The included RAM is only 8GB and single channel. Also the standard storage is only 256GB which will fill up fast.
Thankfully both of these are really easy to upgrade.
Just from a quick Amazon search:
$613.51 MSI GV15
$96.50 Samsung 1TB 980 SSD
$38.99 2 x 8GB RAM kit
Of course a desktop with some new and some used parts is the best way to go for value, but if you have to have a laptop this is pretty decent. I have not tried this laptop myself, but I have heard good things for the price. Of course the battery life and build quality will not be that great as it is a $600 gaming laptop, but they give you the best specs they can.
