It attacks bad gut microbes with the prebiotic, and the probiotics are the new spore form that survive better in the gut. They don't need refrigeration, and they are relatively cheap.

Plus, it you get recommendations for other good probiotics, take as many as you can.

Other supplements:

l-Glutamine - amino acid which aids gut healing. This is already used medically in cases of badly damaged guts.

l-Lysine - amino acid which helps fight viruses (it's never just Candida)

lactoferrin - this is a component of mother's milk, especially the colostrum. That which is available as a supplement is usually bovine derived, but it is a very effective immune system booster.

Pectin - this is an effective prebiotic (short chain fatty acid) which feed good gut bugs. It also help absorb toxins from the gut. I sometimes take tablets, but I also like to drink unfiltered apple juice. Orange juice pulp is high in pectin, citrus peel is very high in pectin.

It sounds like a diet-off.

Look at a low carb diet like the Candida Diet or the Alkaline Diet and see if that's easier. It may be more effective. I know what apples and pineapple are both allowed. And you're not counting calories, so plan on eating as much as you like.

I'd not plan on the alcohol for a few months.

Consider these probiotics. If you're already taking probiotics, you can take them both.
