Ive heard a lot of people recommend mylar bags for longterm storage, so i recently started using these Pleasant Grove Farm 7mil 1 gallon mylar bags I figured the added thickness couldnt hurt, and ive seen them recommended elseware on this thread. I believe they are around 65 cents a bag, and I was able to fit a tong of 200ml cakes, though any larger cakes would not have worked. For tongs maybe get something else. I also throw in some boveda packs for humidity (i like 65% but 62% could probably work. Ive heard 69% could present mold risk in temp swings) and try to keep them in a warm place.
For short term storage, I found these awesome large ceramic jars from an asian market in Oakland called Chanco thats perfect for anything up to 357. Its crqzy, irs almost like itwas designed for them. I can fit 5 high, or a bunch of smaller cakes and a humidity pack. Its nice because it has two lids so its pretty well sealed, but perfect for digging through and grabbing thw tea I want.
Edit: yikes, looks like they raised the price. The bags are about 90 cents a piece now. I got them for around 30 bucks, maybe they go on sale sometimes. But they are worth it.
