I have a solution. Ok hang in here with me. So. I had a very long battle with this with my old cat. He would rattle and shake my door every night. And he would go on for HOURS. I tried everything. Ignoring. Playing before bed. Spraying with water. Putting a fan in front of the door. Putting the vacuum in front of the door. Etc. I finally resorted to locking him in the bathroom at night. I HAD to sleep. And I couldn’t let him in my room because I’m already terrible at sleeping and he would wake me up in other ways. Pawing my face. Playing with the curtains. Plus I’m allergic to cats and didn’t want him on my pillows. Anyway… I was at a loss. He passed away from a illness he was born with. Now I have 2 new cats. They also love to meow and rattle my door. Ugh. So frustrating. Then my life changed and I came across the scat mat (I’ll link it). This mat shocks the animal if they step on it (or you can choose just a beep- because that will work, right? lol). I know it sounds mean and I’m against shock collars and things like that usually. But it’s something they can definitely avoid and not something I’m doing to them per say. My son and I step on it accidentally all the time and it’s really not that bad. Plus, it only took 1 or 2 shocks for them not to want to touch it again. So they usually just stay off and therefore do not get shocked. It keeps them from being able to reach the door. Now, it’s still not 100%. Sometimes they find a way to reach and rattle. But it’s much harder to keep it up from whatever angle they found. Also, they can still sit and meow just beyond the mat. Which does happen from time to time. But they tend to give that up much faster than the fun of scratching and rattling my door. A loud fan can help drown out the meows (the door rattling is harder to ignore). Anyway, my life is much better. Minus the occasional shock to myself on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Lol. My son and I for sure have been shocked many more times than the cats. Another solution I just realized would be to put a door stop wedged under the door at night. It would keep the door from rattling so much if they do try to move it. I also just saw a motion activated air spray you can set up. Which I might just get also. They have upped the game and also started bugging my son at night too. Lol. Maybe a scat mat, door stop, and an air sprayer will finally do it. I will win this war!

This is what I use.
