Funny you should say that, I grabbed a GeChic On-Lap 1302 from Amazon last night shortly after making this post (and doing some research). Got one-day delivery and I'm using it to type this.

Here it is in action on my kitchen table [link]

Pros

  • The bigger screen is very nice
  • Hardware controls for brightness/contrast/color temp
  • No excessive CPU drain since it uses native HDMI
  • Works with either the USB 2 or 3 port

Not sure about cons yet. It came w/ a stuck pixel but was able to fix it on a website. I guess having to plug in 2 cables instead of 1 USB is a bit of a con, but that was kind of the point. You can of course use a usb charger if you wanna plug it into a wall socket.

It's thin and fits great in my small backpack that I use to transport this thing. Oh, I guess the resolution is a con? Who doesn't want a higher resolution!

Here's a bonus pic of my cat -- she mostly likes the box it came in.
