Thank you for your reply and for the reassurances.

I have another question that's in the same vein of paranoia/diligence. I don't know if it should be in a separate thread or this one, but I'll keep it in this one for these purposes. I bought a cable by Cable Matters off of Amazon because it has a USB-C plug on one end and a MicroUSB plug on the other because I wanted to be able to plug the Trezor (One) into my phone, which has a USB-C port.

When I plugged the USB C side into my phone just to test out whether or not the plug would actually fit without my having to take the phone out of the case my phone (Android) detected the cable and threw up the "Charging connected device via USB" notification. The micro USB side of the cable isn't plugged into anything. I also plugged the cable that Trezor sent into a USB A-to-USB C adapter that I had and it also detected that without being plugged into anything on the other end. Yet when I plugged the cable I usually charge my phone with it didn't detect anything.

There wasn't any mention on Amazon or the package of the cable being an "active" or "passive" USB cable, but I'm assuming it's an active cable. I want to assume it's safe to use active USB cables/adapters, but could there be any cause for worry that it might damage the Trezor or worry that there could be eavesdropping code on the adapter's chip? Granted that last one is an unlikely stretch, though I guess almost anything's possible. But my bigger worry is damaging the Trezor.
