Congratulations!
My grey really likes these elevated beds. I put blankets (goodwill usually has big comforters that would work) and a cheap body pillow on it and he can "dig" to make his "nest"- it's cute to watch. I like that they're (notice the plural- he has a couple beds throughout the house, spoiled hound) easy to swiffer/vacuum the floor underneath and I can just throw his bedding in the wash- something that I couldn't do with the foam-filled style beds I had before.
You may want a baby gate if there are areas of your home you'd like to keep your grey in/out of or to use as an "air-lock" at the front door at first to help make sure yours doesn't slip out.
A rubber curry-style brush is a favorite here. I use a low stool as an elevated stand for his food bowl, so you might want something like that.
