You just have to get some good IEM's
Here are some on Canadian Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/KZ-ZS10-Linsoul-Earphones-Detachable/dp/B07QKYTGH9
Sennheiser - Shure - Beyer Dynamic all have good headphones - I probably have a couple from each of them - all in the mid- high price range from 100$ -400$
My personal favorite are Audio-Technica ATH-M50X for about 150$
I also have several in ears from Shure which are also excellent but you can get a 50$ pair off amazon IIRC that people rave about - I forget their name - they might actually be chearper.
Over ears are for more comfortable for longer sessions in my opinion
The only reason to get In Ears is to avoid hearing as much of the outside as they seal better. So if the sound of your stick hitting pads/rubber annoys you, get in ears. If you prefer comfort get over the ears.
edit found the IEMs everyone raves about - https://www.amazon.com/KZ-ZS10-Linsoul-Earphones-Detachable/dp/B07QKYTGH9/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=in+ear+monitors&qid=1688783223&sr=8-1
I've heard excellent things from several musicians I know that use these for 50$
I have 215's and 515s? I forget - WAY too much money and the diminishing returns scale fast with expensive IEMs from my experience.
I liked the 215s for isolation but the bass always felt...lacking in them. thin? it's been awhile I use ATH-M50x OtEs now.
