Hi there, I have this bag too and have used it as a gig bag traveling to different jobs as a MUA.

I do have to warn you that while the bag is awesome, the metal on the straps will literally break, and your bag will crash to the ground with all your stuff. TWO of the metal pieces broke. Carrying it by the handle is safer, but it will eventually warp the inserts a little.

Goes all the way around the bag, doesn't stop you from opening it, and makes the handle more comfortable.
