Yes and no. Funny that you should respond around this time a year after my initial post as this issue has been on my mind over the past few days.
Replacing the negative cable is easy; you can find one at any auto parts store and it just needs to connect with the one bolt.
The positive part is more complicated; I haven't tackled it on the Kia Rondo yet as that's still running without any problems, but now that I know how to approach this, I think I'll be working on it soon.
So it turns out that two positive wires come in but only one clamps to the positive battery post. A connector clamp goes over a screw that is part of the battery post and is tightened down with a nut. I removed the battery post part and gave it a good wire brushing and let it soak in baking soda for a while, saw what looked like copper on the inside and put it back. Vehicle starts up just fine. I still would like to permanently replace that part but it looks like I'll need to get it from the dealer.
