What is your definition of "inexpensive"? Less than $1,000? Less than $300? The issue with inexpensive updates is that they do not age super well. Cheap stuff eventually has to be redone properly. That said, some ideas to update the bathroom could be:

  1. Paint. There are special paints for tile you can find lots of youtube tutorials on how to do it. This oneI found on amazon is like 23 bucks.
  2. Change the pulls on the vanity, IKEA, Home Depot/ Lowes or Amazon have tons of them.
  3. Contact paper/paint the vanity. I have never used contact paper so I cannot vouch for its practicality or durability but I've seen youtubers redo bathrooms with it, so it could be an option for you. (You do not require much skill either) youtuber makeover with contact paper
  4. Change the towel holders (they are like 14 dollars on amazon) and the switch the medicine cabinet. You could do 2 shelves, like this or a closed medicine cabinet.
  5. Change the shower curtain (10-30 dollars TOPS)
  6. Peel and stick vinyl tiles. Again, I've never personally used them but I've seen tons of youtube remodels.
