UPDATE: I ended up biting the bullet and rewired the Front Speaker positive/negative head unit outputs to the Maestro CH3’s Rear Speaker inputs, with the Rear Speaker head unit outputs. So both Front and Rear Head Unit wires together, connected to the single Rear inputs from the CH3 harness. This allowed me to keep the sound quality while fixing the Carplay phone audio issue. I did have to change my gain to 90% in the AV OEM vehicle amp setting to prevent the speakers from peaking out and distorting, however. Things appear to be working great!
ORIGINAL POST: Everything seems to be working flawlessly, expect for ONE thing - I can't hear phone calls when using Carplay (The caller can hear me, but I can't hear them). I've tried audio level adjusting and other troubleshooting. The JVC bluetooth works, but Carplay only works via USB. Has anyone else had this issue?
I found this thread, but want to avoid rewiring and/or risk crippling the car’s sound quality for music (which sounds 100x better than the stock head unit): https://www.reddit.com/r/CarAV/comments/f63ror/wired_carplay_not_using_cars_micspeakers_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
