I didnt find any good solution as for some f**ing reason each and every usb hub sucks. It's actually insane. They lie about power delievery, The speed of the usb hubs (if it is even correctly labled) and generally the quality of the product is very mediocre. Maybe I even found someting great back then but probably at an unreasonable price (80$ plus)
I just googled around and found this one which i havent seen before: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Charging-Individual-Switches-HB-B7C3/dp/B0797NWDCB/ref=sr_1_6?crid=QX5I5DO2MZTQ&keywords=usb+hub+3.0+powered&qid=1641591417&sprefix=usb+hub+%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-6
It looks pretty capable with its 36Watt charger but is bulky and imo not the most practical on the desk.
I cant find the exact usb hub I bought but this one is pretty comparable: https://www.amazon.com/Cateck-Aluminum-Capacity-Supply-Laptops/dp/B08M9D2FVQ/ref=sr_1_40?crid=QX5I5DO2MZTQ&keywords=usb+hub+3.0+powered&qid=1641591493&sprefix=usb+hub+%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-40
The hissing got better but the power delivery is still very bad. Like my phone will discharge when plugged in while in use and other electronics wont function properly either (LEDs in Keyboard keep making high pitched noise)
I wish you good luck on your seach. If you find something great please notifiy me too ^^
Haven't used this, but I can confirm that this sabrent one can power at least a 3 without any issue.
However, and this adds a bit of cost per node, have you thought about going down the Power over Ethernet route? I find it's great for my hadoop cluster simply because it minimizes the amount of cable salad you end up with if you go for dedicated power via USB.
The downside is that you have to also buy a PoE capable switch which are a little more expensive, and the added cost of each PoE hat you have to buy for each node. Worth it for me just because it meant less clutter and fewer things to have to carry around with the cluster if I wanted to move it (also only one outlet is needed for both the cluster and the switch).
If you're in the US and want to get a reliable PoE hat, I recommend these guys. Their customer service is great, they're a relatively small outfit, and their products don't arrive smashed in the box, as a PoE hat I got from Adafruit did. Note, it appears they're out of the PoE hat at this time.
