With all due respect, it was an estimation on what is popularly available.
For e.g. 10TB here, for $320, on Amazon. So, $800 was a part overestimation I found from an unpopular brand.

Agreed. Disk size technology has improved by leaps & bounds over the years. However, past may be no guarantee for the future. We should perhaps build systems like - assuming the HDD size never scales for next 10 years, so would Monero scale in that case? If the answer to this is maybe, then we already see a problem. If yes, then the overkill design was well worth it, imo. and this discussion would end here :)
The whole point I was trying to make is the lower the blockchain size is, the better it is for decentralization of the entire network. Win-Win.
