I suggest getting the app off of the Amazon App Store. Can't speak on the lite, but on the pro, you can't download it. And if you side load the latest build, it will either crash or it won't let you use the controller.
Like said previously, the version on Google Play is no longer compatible with the Odin or Retroid handhelds. Not sure why exactly, but right as the Odin was finally getting into people's hands early last year, the dev team updated the game and it killed compatibility with the handhelds.
Unlike the other commenter, I've never been able to get the gplay version to run after it was updated to 1.4.3.2.2, even with the Aurora store. Any version before that, works great.
But, I did find that the Amazon App Store version works without any issue. At least for now anyway.
