You can use them for whatever you'd want. I can't find any references online, but I'd say it's just a general purpose pa. These are considered passive speakers that means that there is no amplifier built in to the speaker. This means that, by themselves, they are useless. You'll need an external power amp, something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AR0A3V4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_BJTAY0BMKT68X57N0VFZ. There are many options out there, and you'll find a lot of different nputs and outputs. Typically they'll have xlr inputs, but you'll maybe find 1/4in inputs as well, like the cable you have. For outputs you'll need some type of speaker cable. Most modern power amps will typically use Speakon outputs which will require adapting to connect to the 1/4in connector on your speakers. But again, depending on the power amp, you can find 1/4in, banana plugs, spade connectors, or just straight bare copper.
