ESPECIALLY GREAT FOR KIDS! Smaller children ride in the back seat, and are the passengers most likely to be bothered by high temperatures and bright sunlight. Protect your loved ones in their car seats and booster seats by applying these sunshades to the rear side doors of the car. This provides UV protection, cuts sun glare, reduces heat, and prevents your children from getting burned or overheated

Our family has used these. They allow you to open & close window as the “shade” goes around the entire window frame.

I've used standard car window shades before that go over the door. Found them pretty good for letting air in, keeping bugs out, giving privacy, easy to set up and inconspicuous. Like this https://www.amazon.com/ShadeSox-Universal-Window-Protects-Included/dp/B00YI3IGA6

We used these for a while.

The positives: fits over the door frame so window shape isn't an issue and because of that you can roll the window down and keep the shade. Useful when little one falls asleep you can roll the window down to get a breeze while keeping light out.

Also never worried about it falling off due to bad suctions.

The downside is it flaps as you drive down the road and also creates a blind spot if it's on the window behind the driver seat due to the angle.

Still would recommend over other window shades.
