Ive used the following since the index came out with no issues. 33 ft (10m) extension cables. The USB cable has to be powered for that length. The DP needs to be fiber to not have signal loss. You also need a female-to-female display port adapter. I used the following:

We chose to extend out vr to our living room but wanted to keep functionality of a computer at a desk. We ended up spending a bit more, but in the end it was worth it to extending the headset 50’.

We ran the DisplayPort and usb under our house and ran the hdmi in the attic.

We ended up running 50’ active usb3.0 extender, 50’ optical DisplayPort and a 100’ optical hdmi to run the signal to our tv for others to view/enjoy.

While trying different lengths of active usb3.0 extenders/repeaters, I found out that the maximum usable length for use with the index was 50’.

They all work without signal degradation.
