I have to agree with /u/jmes_c and /u/petscopnerd28. The Crosley is the most likely issue. I’d highly recommend an Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-BK.

There are better players that cost more, but for the price, this is a great turntable and should resolve most, if not all, of your skipping issues. (You may be able to find it cheaper somewhere. Amazon is just the first place I went.)

If the price seems high to you, consider a high quality turntable as an investment. The Crosley can damage your vinyls over time. Depending on how enthusiastic you are about collecting and spinning your vinyl youll likely be saving money in the long run (you already bought a second Demon Days because of the Crosley).

This Turntable and speakers will give you everything you need. Don't sweat staying with more expensive stuff for now, but this should be the start of where your journey begins. Good luck grasshopper.

AT is pretty solid and this is their entry level model. $15 cheaper on amazon right now, but if you are looking for entry level this one is sufficient

Need Some Help As A Newbie.

I currently am using a Jensen JTA-230 (haha I know) and looking for an upgrade. I have never really setup an audio system so I am uncertain if these potential items would be capable and optimal. Even, after reading through the pinned post.

Turnable: Audio Technica LP60X-BK or Audio Technica LP60XBT-BK (which one do I need?)

Amp: Fosi Audio BT20A

Speakers: Klipsch Reference Series Bookshelves

Because I would be going with passive speakers, do I need a receiver? Or is that what the Fosi will function as? Also, thoughts on this potential setup would also be appreciated. Budget is $500.

No. It's honestly not that great.

It gets you in the door though! Alternatively you can get this new or try to find one used.
