I need some help with my vinyl setup. I've labored over trying to find the fix but I can't seem to figure it out. No matter what I do, I can't stop getting scratchy, poor audio quality on both new and old records. See my setup in the image below and each componant described below:
Key:
1) Technics Direct Drive Automatic Turntable System - SL-D202
2) Schiit Audio - SYS - Volume Control and 2-Input Switch (for switching to AUX)
4) SMSL SA-36A Pro 20WPC TDA7492PE Digital Amplifier
5) ONKYO SKF-100 Speakers
Where are the speakers and turntable located? Photo of your setup? Upload to https://imgur.com/upload and reply with link.
Maybe you are experiencing rumble from the turntable and need a better phono preamp with a sub sonic or low cut rumble filter.

Maybe you need some turntable isolation

Art DJPre II and how much will your budget take? https://edifier-online.com/us/en/shop-refurbished There are the S350DB that have a sub included.
Those speakers do not include a built in pre-amp, some speakers that do include it are the Klipsch R41PM (on sale now) or the Kanto YU6 (not on sale)
Or you could get the Edifier with an external pre-amp (Pyle or ART)
Whats your current TT, why does it need upgrading?
The Orbit is ok, the Fluance RT81 also has included preamp, an AT95E cart, a FREE cue lever and is only 249USD.
or the RT82 is better with the speed control sensors, $299 plus ArtDJPre for 65 still comes in under the 399 of the Orbit Plus with optional preamp
And yeah the R1280DBs are decent, if your room isnt huge...
