All the products mentioned in the captions w/links on amazon, and when exactly I added said product to my routine (I never removed anything. just kept adding more. LOL. apparently my waves do not get weighed down easily, which seems to me like I should keep adding as much as possible!)I did want to add, also, that I meant "Curlsmith" not "Curlmaster" above in my captions (my apologies)!
- Clarifying Shampoo (only wash day, day 1)-- I have only done 1 clarifying wash, which was before my Kinky Curly Clarifying Shampoo came in. I used Vanicream Shampoo (not recommended) because it was all I had without silicones + etc. at first.
- Co-wash (all 3 days) -- Curlsmith Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash
- Leave-in Conditioner (added on day 3-5) -- Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave In Conditioner
- Deep Conditioning Mask (added on day 5) -- Briogeo Curl Charisma Mask - rice amino + avocado hydrating & defining mask. It's protein free, which I felt was perfect for my hair since it was very stiff + strawlike. I really think it helped a ton but its not the cheapest. So much moisture!!
- Drying Cream/Leave-in? (all 3 days) I'm not sure what it is. -- Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream -- this claims to be a leave-in conditioner! But honestly, I have no idea. I bought this pack because someone on this sub recommended the brand and it seemed like a good way to get started without a ton of research.
- Medium Hold Jelly? (all 3 days) -- Curlsmith HydroStyle Flexi Jelly
- Curl Defining Mousse (added day 5) -- Cake Beauty "The Curl Whip" Mousse -- added to help with frizz!!! my hair coiled tighter AS SOON AS THIS TOUCHED IT! IT WAS CRAZY.
- Insanely Strong Hold Gel (added day 3/5) -- Schwarzkopf got2b Ultra Glued Invincible Hold Gel. I know, it sounds ridiculous. I happened to have this gel as it is highly recommended for gluing down lacefront wigs without any flaking or anything. I needed better hold after day 1 and I figured "what could possibly go wrong?" Honestly I think I love it LOL! My scrunch/cast held overnight last night with this stuff, and I scrunched it out this morning and it was just FABULOUS!!! disclaimer, I do not know if this is CGM-safe.
More details: Since I'm wavy, I decided to do a wash once every 2-3 days to start. Got excited and co-washed once every 2 days, oops. Before this, I only washed my hair once every 7-10 days out of laziness. I believe my oil production has been manageable due to this. I am of middle eastern decent and have normal-thick hair, and I guess 2A-2B waves? :) I thought I had frizzy, anti-gravity straight hair all along!
Also, everything here is glazed/roped in, s2c, plopped for 20 minutes, scrunched, airdried, then sotc. No blowdryer.
