For my thordsen, I used a product called sugru to mold a pad over the castle nut.

It comes in black, you can barely see it, and I had to take the stock off at one point, it broke but went back together just fine, can barely tell there is a crack.

It's much more comfortable for me than even the "ergo" end plates I tried.
