I picked up these after doing some research. Later I found out that my producer buddy has the same pair at his home studio. We've both been happy with them.
What is your price range?
For open back HD 560S is great and is a slight upgrade over the PC38X.

I don't have too much experience with closed back audiophile, but something like the DT 770 Pro would be a good headset.

I know this isn't something on your guidelines, but do you like the outdoors? If you do, I definitely recommend getting this It's a stove that you can recharge your phone, GPS, or any electronic that can charge via USB.
If you like music, what about a nice set of headphones? I just got a set of them and I love them. The music quality is excellent -- a lot of professionals use them to do recording and mastering, and I know for a fact that Hans Zimmer has a pair of them in his studio. Definitely better than Bose or Beats by Dre (ugh).
