No problem, I appreciate the long post. I recently replaced the oem generator in the spit for a new, 140 amp alternator - similar to those used in gm models - connected to the battery via 10 awg wire, so I think power output is not a major problem. The head unit, I am waiting for it to arrive to hook it up and see what ports I've got, and how good they sound, should be here by the 19th. As for the amp, would something like this be a better choice?
