The DVI-I connector on your projector supports both analog and digital connections. It absolutely is NOT analog only. That would be a DVI-A connection (which is basically never used anywhere).
You can use a HDMI to DVI adapter on the projector side and a HDMI cable between the laptop and the projector and you should get video into it just fine. Likewise, a DVI-DVI cable should also work fine if that connection is actually on the laptop. DVI is REALLY outdated to show up on laptops anymore. But, HDMI is a gold standard to use these days as an output from a PC to any digital device, and DVI should work just fine.
