This is what I did (I have a 2022):
Here is the adapter which intercepts power running to the rearview mirror. It has no adverse effect on the use of any features or buttons on the mirror.
Here's what it looks like after install.
I used a drill bit to bore out a relief in the plastic that covers the wiring. I also got a pair of 90° USB elbow cables and used one of them for the short run from the adapter to the camera.
Here is the camera, and here is a polarized lens I added to it.
This harness taps off the wires leading to the rear view mirror (auto-dimming or homelink) and provides a single USB port. It works perfectly. It’s very easy to install; and paired with a short (6”) USB cable everything tucks cleanly into the trim around the mirror/windshield sensors.
