Good luck! I hope you find a good match for your needs. The Igloo I linked is definitely a less rugged cooler than the Ozark trail that you mentioned, and it has a bit less insulation as well. But for my needs the easy access of the rip top and smooth zipper operation has proven to be the more valuable feature.

I should mention another option I loved for kayaking and tubing long relatively mild river runs was to tow a rigid cooler in a raft. I used a cheapo explorer 100 for my tow raft and a Coleman Xtreme wheeled cooler fit perfectly. It worked great for overnight runs since I could pretty easily wheel the cooler up to the camp spot from the bank. And of course a rigid cooler like a Coleman Xtreme had much longer ice retention than my soft coolers.

Ended up ordering this guy and towed it around for about half an hour today. There's a noticeable difference but it didn't kill me. I think for shorter distances it'll work.
