Congrats! I love working from home. I agree with a docking station, or at least extra monitors. I got a couple portable monitors so I’m also easily mobile with my whole set up. I got a couple stands meant to hold ipads for these because the stands they come with are not good. I can set up in any room with an outlet and internet access and have three screens: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013XFJKGI?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
A docking station would be fantastic, but I just got a couple USB hubs to help with plugging everything in. A bit of a pain, but it is nice that it’s portable. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MZ1K9HZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I also got wireless keyboard and wireless mouse because I like to elevate my laptop monitor, which means can’t really use the keyboard.
If you don’t have a place where you can set up with a decent looking background behind you, consider a pop-up screen that will attach to your chair like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IJIJZS8/ref=sspa_mw_detail_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWwp13NParams
If you’ll do a lot of video calls, a ring light might be nice, it really does improve how you look on screen. Good headset is useful too, that will improve audio quality for both you and people you’re talking to. I like wireless headset.

One tip I have for managing the temptation to just keep working all hours is when you quit for the day turn off the computer. If you really need to do some work you can restart of course, but it makes it harder. :)
Also, if you can have separate devices for personal use and work use, that also helps you keep work time separate from your personal time.
My desk is a folding desk too, so I can put it away if I need the bedroom for guests, or I can move it to another room easily. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XZV3F8F?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Good luck! You may miss seeing colleagues in person, but you won’t miss commuting! And if you’re like me you’ll find you catch a lot fewer colds, I’ve really stayed healthier while working from home!
I'm going to continue on with what others are saying with the external monitor but with a portable external monitor!! This thing fits in my backpack and I can have a second monitor anywhere I go. Has been seriously amazing for my productivity and always makes me look like a badass in the library (not sure about the last part).
I had an older Asus model (LINK) that I carried on business, no battery, flat (backpack-able) footprint. Was awesome. Just handed it off to a friend so someone could enjoy it as I don't travel anymore. This model is powered by the USB plug which I loved, I hate carrying extra equipment. Would work easily in a library. I paid $169 for mine.
