The Sainsmart 3018 ProVer is a all aluminum frame, it has:
z-probe
e-stop
limit switches
newer board
newer offline controller
This CNC 3018 Pro Max is actually a Pro version with the side acrylics, not a Max version.
If you google for 3018 max, you'll see an all aluminum frame, different spindle, manual adjustment knobs, etc.

It's basically a Sainsmart 3020 without the X linear rails.
So, what materials / work do you plan on doing?
(btw, have a Pro version with some upgrades and I'm more than happy with it.)
After your note about the Max category I'm down to the MySweety 3018 Max or the Daedus 3018 Pro Max.
They look like they might be identical so I'm leaning toward MySweetie just because I've seen the name more frequently.
Thanks for the recommendation on bits and acrylic. I haven't even bought the thing yet and I'm already eyeballing all kinds of upgrades and goodies.
I'm far from an expert in the various 3018 machines, but I just semi-impluse purchased this unit: (MySweety 3018 CNC Max) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08332BR39/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (non-affiliate link). I won't arrive until next Monday, so no hands-on report just yet.
I'm largely interested in something small and 'turnkey' to try out various machine control platforms before deciding/committing for my (planned) bigger build without having to mess with my other machine (a 6040). But, this one seems to be the best of the 3018 designs that I've run across - all-aluminum frame, standard extrusions (from what I can tell) so modification seems likely to be easy, and the GRBL controller seems adequate.
