The digitizer is attached to the LCD panel using double-sided adhesive tape. You separate them with a heat gun on low, or a hair dryer. Heat, is what makes the adhesive give up the grip. There are countless articles that detail how to DIY repair a broken phone, tablet, or touchscreen screen. Some of the repair kits even include a cute little heat gun.

Both eBay and Amazon will attempt to make it right, if you get screwed. The eBay seller asks you to be specific and know your model (which you do)... so just communicate with them. Feel free to ask the Amazon sellers any questions you might have before you purchase. The questions and replies will be public and be attached to the product, so it is harder for them to screw you over AND keep selling.

Not impossible... just harder. I know. Amazon sucks... but you can trust them to try to make a mistake right. They make mistakes... they just work at making them right.
