It could. I also have found camping pillows to work well enough. If you have years on this, you may be able to train yourself / adapt to using what you’ve got.
If it’s about body alignment even secondarily, I find I’m more partial to softer pillows on the road.
Here’s a few pillows I have used on the road / air that I can also lay down with:
Bcozzy travel pillow - I recommend the kids version for smaller people (sub 5’), this is the best travel pillow I’ve used and have configured it to laying down on. I’ve also slept with it coiled. Experiment.
Wise Owl Outfitters Camping pillow - for a more traditional laying down
Sea to Summit - great for camping if space is an issue. Can control how inflated it is. Crinkles a bit if you’ve never had on go to an outdoors / outfitters store to see.
