Yeah my SO wasn't super keen on that set either when I showed him just now. What's your take on this net?

As for counterfeits, yikes... Are the ones I linked to on amazon likely to be counterfeits?

The review seems mostly positive for the net, apparently you just need to worry about the middle snaps but you can get them replaced if they are defective. Unless you find something clearly better I would take it. It's a bit on the expensive side though, so I wonder, what are you using right now?

The muscle power 3 from amazon is likely genuine. Here is why:

Yonex has a range of product based on how much money they want you to spend. Yonex also own a bunch of different factories around the world and they do not operate on the same level of quality.

Cheap rackets are made in the factories of China or another country where the manufacturing is cheap. You also have a range of mid-level equipment that is made in countries like Canada. Then you have the high-end available to regular people, usually made in Japan. Rackets usually start at a minimum of 150$ and go up.

In the case of the Muscle Power 3 you posted, look at the information given, it says it's made in China, and it's a low-end Yonex racket, so it's probably genuine but it's not great. I have tried MP3 (Muscle Power 3) before and it's not a bad racket for 30$, on a tight budget I would recommend it.

Best way to buy genuine is to find a honest local dealer that is serious about badminton or an online re-seller certified by Yonex. For a MP3 amazon is probably good enough.

That looks pretty decent! The only thing I'd be uncertain about is the length of the net. Papa seemed pretty keen on a full-size net, which is about 6 metres, as I understand it...?

Do you know much about this brand?

edit: WHOOPS never mind, that IS a full-size net... I'm an idiot!
