Get this cable instead https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TN25765

This cable allows you to connect to the computer like normal but has a way to inject power from an external source like the original charger that comes with the quest. Your headset will never dip below 75% power (simply due to the way the battery voltage balances out) allowing you to play indefinitely.

I've used the 16ft Kuject powered link cable for the last 10 months with my Q2 and it works very well. Uses the Q2 charger/cable to help maintain the headset battery at ~80% for like forever (at 90Hz refresh rate). I've also tried it with my Quest Pro and it seems to work the same (using my Q2 charger/cable btw).

About the same performance as my official link cable (2.4Gbps usb3 speed test).

I still prefer the freedom of wireless with Air Link. Distant objects pop in a little later and I get a few more compression artifacts, but not really a big deal, for me anyway.

Probably a powered Link cable like the Kuject from Amazon would be a lot less expensive option to get while you wait for the Quest 3 to come out later this year.

I've use one of these with my old Quest 1 using its charger/cable and it worked well and should give you very long runtimes.

The Pico3 has a display port but also needs an optional power adapter in order to maintain power to the headset. Also, I don't think that the Pico 3 Link is actually in production anymore so support might not be all that long to go. I could be wrong about that but I thought that Pico only put out about 35,000 units as sort of a test run.

The only cable I would recommend for the quest 2 link is the Kuject. The original cable or similar doesn't keep it from dying.

While I still prefer wireless PCVR with my QPro/rx4090 and good router/wifi setup, I must say I do get a bit better results with a good link cable with complex flight sims like msfs.

The best one I've tried including the official one, is the 16 ft Kuject powered link cable. Helps keep my QP at 80% charge for a very long time. Like all Link cables, make sure you try to start off with a fully charged headset. Also only needs a usb type A pc port.

If you buy it from Amazon it's easy to return for a refund if you don't like it.

Have a look at this imho.

Kuject Link Cable:

• Connects to your original Quest 2 charger

• Connects to your PCs USB 3 port

• Keeps the Quest 2 at an optimal 80% to preserve the battery

• Allows you to use the Quest for a long as you want and doesn’t slowly drain the battery like other Link cables.

• 16 Feet Long

IMPORTANT: Must be connected to wall charger first, then to the pc, and finally to the Quest. It will only work as advertised if it is connected in this order.

3rd party. I have this one. It measures at 3gbps throughput and charges my Quest while playing.

I had the same problem; I ordered this cable from Amazon and it solved the problem.

Probably not. My msi z790 usb ports extend runtimes to about 4 hours. The best option I’ve found is the 16ft Kuject powered link cable I bought for my Q2 over a year ago any it seems to work fine with my QPro.

It uses my Q2 charger/cable (5v/2a, 10w) and helps maintain the headset battery at about 80%. Do a search on the Amazon store to find this.

If you are going to play cable linked just get a KUJECT CABLE

It plugs into the Q2 charger as well and holds the charge around 75% during play.

I don't really like to play wired when in VR, but in your case wouldn't it be better to have an USB wire with external power that could also charge the headset?

This cable apparently works for Quest 2 (I've heard people say both that it doesn't maintain the Pico 4 charge though, and some conflicting reports that say it DOES keep the charge), but there's some initial setup you have to do when using for the first time (on amazon page).

That might be the best thing for infinite wired play until one designed for pico (hopefully) comes out. Keep in mind though that I've heard various reports of that cable eventually failing due to it being a non active extension cable which caps out at 3m, where as they are selling a 5m non active extension cable. It will wear out and break from shielding deterioration way quicker than a 3m cable would, and you can see that being reflected in some of the amazon reviews.
