If you don't have copita-style glasses in your arsenal, I highly recommend them. They're perfect for amari, cordials/liqueurs, fortified wines (port, madeira, etc), and even whiskeys. All my home glassware is 50 years old or older. Goodwill and estate sales are wonderful places to score deals. I prefer slightly flared or tulip copitas but unflared copitas may be cleaner looking. The next choice is deciding over 5 oz glasses or large glasses we only put a few ounces in.
As for a homemade Cynar recipe... I have never found nor developed one worthy of posting.
