I have this style (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DN9QB4Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and they work great for covering the plugs up! You need to be comfortable swapping out a switch plate cover but it's very straight forward, just make sure to turn off the breaker. Only tool needed is a flat head screwdriver.

Also these are the BESTTT outlet covers when you just need the outlet covered (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077N6HPV3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Really difficult to remove (even for adults) and they just look more like a part of the wall so my baby is way less interested in them in the first place.

Most of the stuff I am gonna list is like 5month plus but you'll definitely use it before a year

Coverall style bibs. Anything less then like a full poncho is absolutely useless once they start solids.

We have ones from tiny twinkle and I love them. Get WAY more then you think you are gonna need. You are gonna be feeding 3 meals a day + 1-2 snacks eventually so assume 4-5 bibs per day, an extra or two for the diaper bag and then calculate how much you want to wash stuff. I have 15 and still run out on occasion.

Baby gates. Get the retractable kind, the kind that pressure mount are just fun things to trip over.

Travel high chair, we LOVE our Ingelisa one

Cups, the munchkin 360 ones are amazing.

Generalized baby proofing stuff. (Outlet covers, cord covers, pinch guard, things to secure stuff to the walls etc). These are the best outlet cover for outlets you don't use often and these are the best for the ones where stuff needs to be plugged in or you use frequently.

Convertible car seat (might be a bit past 6 months but you are gonna need it eventually anyway)

Placemats, especially if you go out to eat a lot. Any silicon ones will work.

Toy Bungees (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KNXYRQ9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) fantastic for when you are out and about and your baby is testing gravity.
