I ordered everything off Amazon. I used this case, which includes a daughtercard to mount the M.2 SSD drive in the case:

The case is not hard to put together, but a bit tedious with tiny screws that are always problematic for my sausage fingers. But everything works fine.

This is the drive that I used with it:

A friend went with a different drive (Crucial, I think), and while there was nothing wrong with the drive, he couldn't get it to work with Umbrel. He ended up returning it and using this one, which worked great for him too.

Here's the SD card I used:

And the official Raspberry Pi power supply:

If you have any questions or trouble, be sure to visit the Umbrel telegram group at https://t.me/getumbrel, it's quite active and helpful.

I have a couple of pi4s, and I use this and this.

I use SATA m.2s because if I understand correctly, the pi will not be able to fully utilize the speed afforded by the NVMe because they're connected via USB. The SATA SSDs work well for me.

I also have this Orico enclosure for a couple of SSDs attached to the pi which functions as a NAS.
