If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, the small handle with 3 interchangeable needles is the way to go. I have relatively big hands (Large, and sometimes XL with gloves), and it is still comfortable.
I was able to punch up to #4 worsted weight with the smaller punch needle handle, with interchangeable needles, on the biggest needle. But I do not suggest going higher than DK withe the smaller handle.
The bigger handle 4mm works for #4 worsted weight BETTER and I can see it POSSIBLY (unsure) with 1 size up.
Have yet to try out the biggest (5.5 mm). I read it was mainly for chunky yarn.
