If you’re like me, you didn’t pick up the official carrying case for your Odin but would like to give it some protection when not in use or while traveling. After searching around, I came across this Mumba Switch Lite case. It looked close enough, so I decided to give it a try.

It’s snug on the Y axis, as you can see in the picture. It won’t shift up and down, even if you shake it. The Odin will slide along the x axis, from left to right. I wouldn’t think of this as too much of a problem but I’m a bit worried about the effect of constant impacts to the left and right on the integrity of the L1/R1 switches. However, putting a cleaning cloth or charging cable to the left or right of the Odin seems to solve this problem. The z axis, or the internal space of the case from base to lid, is more concerning. The Odin does not sit against the lid of the case when it is closed, so it can and does bump into the lid, making contact with the sticks. I’m not sure how to solve that problem, other than packing it with more cleaning cloths?

It terms of durability, it seems like the case could take a decent beating and still protect the contents, IF those contents are snug. Which, as explained above, it isn’t.

Overall: 6 out of 10. If you just need something to keep it safe while it sits on your nightstand, it’s not a bad option. But I’d be a bit hesitant about putting the Odin in this and then dropping it, or packing it away for a bumpy flight or something.
