The problem with this approach is I don't really need a 'KVM' because those are typically used to switch inputs and outputs between devices/computers and not to switch outputs from a single device.

Fortunantly I have good news, nothing concrete but this is starting to look a lot more feasible.

Using a Bidirectional 1.4DP switch and a 1.4DP hub I was able to successfully swap between a set of 3 monitors connected to the hub. 2x of those displays were running 1080p@60hz 1x was 1440p@144hz. The DP switch was connected to a single output on my video card and the the MST Hub to one of the outputs on the switch. Another single monitor was connected to the other out put and I was able to successfully switch between the single monitor and the monitors connected to the hub. All of the cables are also 1.4DP and right now the only reason I wasn't testing all of them at 1440p@144hz is because I was running those displays at the maximum they were capable and I only have a single display that runs at the resolution and refresh rate.

I'm still not confident if 1440p@144hz will be possible but 60hz should definitely be doable, maybe 75hz. 1080p@144hz could probably be accomplished as well. Either way I'm pretty confident I should be able to get this working, I'll report back once my monitors for the rig arrive and I finally see if it works or not.

Here's links to the switch and hub I used.
