I bought a new charging port from amazon for $15 (shipped) and was able to replace it myself from a youtube video over the course of ~15 minutes. It's super easy. Just go slowly and follow the instructions.
Here's the video guide I followed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqCEXEmcj4Y
and here's the port I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PGMP9E4/
Perhaps unsurprisingly, that is not a "genuine OEM" one, but it worked just fine.
My husband's n5's USB port melted while he was charging it in the car. I bought a replacement part on amazon and replaced it. It's actually not that hard. Here's the amazon listing: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PGMP9E4/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp#
It's working again now.
