Things sold by Amazon.com are often the exact problem, and they sell counterfeit books with no publisher. They sell books that claim to be a certain edition but are really a cheap Dover or something.

I've seen bootleg The Stand, and the unformatted bootleg Gone with the Wind showed in results before the real one. And you can be sure that those were all "sold by Amazon.com."

You must be cherry picking what you read, because these threads about this are filled with people complaining about counterfeit products from Amazon.
